When an assisted fertilization treatment is done, several viable embryos often result. However, across the world, doctors recommend lowering the risk of multiple pregnancies for the mother’s own wellbeing and for the babies’ health as well. Although every case is different, CER recommends that younger patients not transfer more than two embryos per treatment. In addition, it offers couples the possibility of freezing its other viable embryos for future pregnancies or of donating the embryos to couples that cannot conceive after attempting all medical treatments available.
The embryos are stored at extremely low temperatures, labeled for identification and frozen only with the consent of the parents. The storage facility upholds the highest biosecurity standards available for each individual embryo.
